Eclectic Dragon Designs
Are you a fan of bold, chunky, gorgeous tribal jewelry that honors the people of this world? If so, you will LOVE Blain Aymond’s work! Blain has been a fantastic customer and we are so pleased to have met her! She uses many of our antique pendants as centerpieces for her royal jewelry. Blain incorporates beads and findings from all over the world into new, bold, fresh pieces. The Turkman pendant above works beautifully with the African glass beads, surprising the eye with components that would normally never meet each other.
As you can see from Blain’s photo, she wears what she makes! And, it looks strikingly beautiful on her, too! Most of us dare to wear only one of the elements she combines with such courage- a pendant on a leather cord or a few of the chunky beads as focal points of interest… Not Blain! She wears it like it’s a second skin. Blain describes her background and passion:
“It is my privilege to design necklaces from these eclectic international artisan’s pendants and beads. I design from some joyous instinct that loves color and knows no boundaries.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. I applied my education to become an Artist Representative. After a period of time, I became a Marketing Director, and then went on to become an Advertising Producer. I grew essentially through the business side of my art career. Subsequently, years later, my artistic side emerged after attending one of America’s largest gem and mineral shows in Tucson, Arizona.
I am influenced by the artwork of various tribes, pure and semi-nomadic people as the Turkoman of Central Asia and the Koochi of Northern Afghanistan, along with Tibetan, East Indian, American Navajo and African artisans… All traditional artisans. My one-of-a-kind necklaces are all signed with a sterling silver dragon.
I am happily married to husband Bob Aymond who owns Beach Orchids. We live in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with our rescued Shih Tzu, Henna, The Wonderful!”
